Update: Schools Will Remain Closed, Distance Learning Will Continue

On Wednesday, April 1, 2020, Governor Gavin Newsom and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond announced that all California school districts should close campuses for the remainder of the school year due to the safety concerns surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19). In addition, Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) Superintendent Al Mijares also recommended keeping campuses closed for the rest of the school year and focusing on distance learning.

As a result, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) has extended its temporary school closures through the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, which ends June 11, 2020.
