PTA Nominating Committee - Volunteers Needed

At our Feb 4 Fairmont PTA General Association Meeting (6pm), we will be electing a nominating committee. We will elect 5 members to our nominating committee and 2 alternates. If you are interested in helping to determine who will be the future PTA Executive Board Members, please volunteer.

This committee will select the executive officers slate for our Fairmont Elementary PTA Executive Board for next school year. The nominating committee members will attend from 2 to 5 hours of meetings over the course of February and early March to nominate people to fill the following positions on Fairmont Elementary PTA's Executive Board. Meeting times and dates will be determined by the nominating committee members. The PTA Parliamentarian will be available to assist the nominating committee as needed.

Positions that need nominated by the Nominating Committee:

  • President*
  • 1st Vice President - Programming
  • 2nd Vice President - Fundraising
  • 3rd Vice President - Hospitality
  • Secretary*
  • Treasurer*
  • Financial Secretary
  • Historian
  • Auditor

* Required positions for all PTAs to maintain active.

Some of the volunteers doing the above roles are willing to continue in those roles for the next school year, however they need to be renominated since terms are only for 1 year with a 2 year term limit.

The only requirement for being on the nominating committee is that you have to be a Fairmont Elementary PTA member and you cannot have served on the committee last year.

If we get more volunteers than needed for the nominating committee and alternates, we will select the nominating committee with a lottery at the Feb 4 PTA Gen Association Meeting.
