Muffins, Flag Day, Clap Out, Retirements

Dear Fairmont families,

As I reach out to you today, I know safety is at the top of many of our minds. Please know that it is our highest priority here at Fairmont as well. We appreciate your continued trust, support and partnership as we seek to provide your child(ren) with a positive, safe, and enriching experience at Fairmont.

June is filled with many exciting events and activities and schedule changes. Friday, June 10th our PTA is hosting Muffins with a Loved One. All students are invited to bring a special person to start their day with and enjoy a muffin before the start of the school day. The event will begin at 7:40 AM and end promptly at 8:10 AM. Parking will be extremely limited. Please consider parking nearby and walking. Friday, June 10th is also a minimum day. All TK students will follow the early bird schedule and will attend school from 8:22 - 11:42 AM. Students in grades K-6 will attend school from 8:22 AM - 1:17 PM.

We will be having a school wide Flag Day Assembly on Tuesday, June 14th from 8:25 -8:45 AM. All parents are invited to attend and are asked to enter through the Main Gate. The event will take place on the blacktop in the middle playground. All Fairmont students and families are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue on this day.

The last day of school will be Thursday, June 16th. We will follow a modified minimum day schedule this day. All TK students will attend at the early bird time from 8:22 - 11:42 AM. All students in grades K-6 will attend school from 8:22 AM - 12:32 PM. We will celebrate our 6th graders and their move to middle school with a special Clap Out at 12:25 PM. We invite all Fairmont families to join us for this celebration. The gates at the Main Lot and D Village will open at about 12:20. We ask that everyone joins us on the blacktop and make two lines. At approximately 12:25 PM all sixth grade students and retiring staff members will begin near the D-Village entrance/exit and walk between the two lines. We will clap and celebrate with them as they make their final exit from Fairmont Elementary School.

Finally, I would like to take a moment to recognize two phenomenal teachers, Mrs. Alexander and Mrs. Yamamoto. Both of these individuals have dedicated many years of service to Fairmont. Whether one or more of your children was fortunate enough to have them as a teacher or not, please be sure to wish them well as they will be retiring at the conclusion of this school year. Our Fairmont families and staff will definitely miss them.

Best,

Mrs. San Roman
