PTA President's Farewell Message
It has been truly an honor to serve as Fairmont PTA's President. I hope that you have enjoyed some of the new things we started (or brought back) during the last 2 years - Multicultural Night, May the Fourth Be With You, the Welcome Back Picnic, Weekly PTA Announcements, One-Stop School Supplies Shopping, and Recycling Wednesdays (just to name a few).
I have enjoyed working with a large group of volunteers to make PTA events and activities successful. Without volunteers, we would not have been able to accomplish the things we have. While all of our volunteers are important, there are a few extra special volunteers that I would like to highlight. These are volunteers that I was always able to call on for assistance - no matter what and they rose to the occasion. Please join me in thanking Dorie Heath (my right hand throughout the last two years - she has been an inspiration to me with her generous heart), Tanya Napier, Casie Diaz, Tammy Dixon, Tatiana Zhukovskaya, Leanne Daniels, and Kerry Koop. These individuals have gone above and beyond many times to help when asked or offer their help. They have been instrumental in making many PTA activities and events happen successfully. If you see them this week on or around campus, please take a moment to thank them. Words cannot express my gratitude to all the volunteers that have helped to roll with changing needs in the 2 years.
It has been a lot of work and very fulfilling on a personal level to be Fairmont's PTA President. I look forward to being able to enjoy the upcoming PTA activities with my own students as participants instead of an event co-organizer. Thank you for all the kind words and support you have given to me as your PTA President in the last 2 years. It has been appreciated!

Muffins with a Loved One
Without our behind the scenes volunteers this event would not have been possible. Thank you to Tammy Dixon, Kerry Koop, Casie Diaz, Leanne Daniels, and Puja Hirpara for their behind the scenes efforts toward this event. Fairmont PTA would also like to thank the volunteers who gave up their morning on Friday to help set up and run this event. Thank you to Sarah Edwards ReMax and Veteran Air for their monetary contribution to help make this event possible.
Lost & Found Is Overflowing
Lost & Found will be cleared out this week and donated to charity. Please check the Lost & Found before things are donated this week.
2022-2023 School Supplies Sales Will Start This Week!
PTA will once again offer an EASY button for school supplies. More information will come in this week. Sales will be online only. We will take orders through June 30. After June 30, sales will be only as supplies are available. More information will be sent via Parent Square. We learned a lot last year. The personal school supplies will be available for pick up at the Welcome Back Picnic on August 16. The bulky classroom supplies will be delivered to the classrooms directly!
SAVE THE DATE - Welcome Back Picnic (August 16)
This will be a great chance to catch up with friends we have not see over the summer. We will have music, fun, and activities for families. It will be a way to kick off the exciting new school year. Mark your calendars! This will also be where students that order school supplies through the PTA will be able to pick up their individual supplies. Volunteers are needed to help with this event - planning, set up, and day of the event. This link has more details and a sign up form.
Recycling Wednesdays
As a school, we have recycled more than 2,000 pounds of aluminum cans and plastic bottles. Thank you for your donations. This raised enough money to pay for buses to two field trips (over $2,500). Thank you for your donations.
