Dear Fairmont Families,
Congratulations on completing the 2022-23 school year. It was great to have students back on campus learning and enjoying time with classmates.
As you carve out your summer plans, please consider encouraging your children to work on a project for the Reflections Contest, sponsored by our PTA. See the flier here.
Students can practice their reading and math skills using iReady throughout the summer as well. iReady can be accessed by students until August 14th.
In addition please don’t forget to check out the Summer Reading Program at the Library. They offer many programs to incentivize reading and make it fun throughout the summer.
I would like to thank our PTA for all they have done to support us throughout the year. One of the programs that our students benefited from was recycling. We collected 2,013.20 pounds of aluminum and plastic this year. That is amazing! We are teaching our students to do something good for the environment and help raise funds for the school at the same time.
We will kick off the 2022-23 school year with a Welcome Back Picnic on Tuesday, August 16th. Thank you to our PTA for organizing this event.
In October we will be celebrating Fairmont’s 50th Anniversary. There are many great things planned to commemorate reaching this wonderful milestone. All are invited to attend an assembly on Wednesday, October 19 at 8:30am on the blacktop. We will have some distinguished speakers at this event and each grade level will be performing as well. In addition, the PTA will be hosting a carnival on Friday, October 21st to help us end this special week with lots of fun.
In closing, I want to thank each and every one of you for your support this school year. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first year here at Fairmont and am looking forward to all that is in store for next year. Enjoy the summer, and I will see you in late August.
