Dear Fairmont Community,
Happy Summer! I hope you are enjoying a well deserved break. I am proud of our entire Fairmont community of students, teachers, staff, and families and all that we accomplished during the 2021-2022 school year. As you have heard, Mrs. Terry Mulcahy has accepted the position of principal at Glenknoll Elementary School for the 2022-23 school year. Her Fairmont family will surely miss her, however we wish her the best in her new endeavor.
Now, we are looking ahead to the 2022-23 school year, and we are making big plans. I am happy to announce we have added a new member to our Fairmont Team. Last night the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School Board of Education approved the appointment of Mrs. Liana Cadena as the next Assistant Principal of Fairmont Elementary. She is excited to come to Fairmont, and I feel she will be a great partner in continuing the work we have started.

Liana is beyond thrilled and extremely honored to join the PYLUSD Family. For the past seventeen years, she served the East Whittier City School District as an elementary school teacher, SST Coordinator, English Language Learner Lead, and Intervention Specialist. Liana obtained a BA in History from Cal State Los Angeles and MA in Education from Whittier College. She proceeded to earn an Administrative Services Credential from Cal State Fullerton and now looks forward to serving and leading at Fairmont Elementary.
Liana loves spending time with her husband and three children in their home in Rowland Heights. They enjoy watching sporting events, listening to music, and hanging out playing board games.
We are so fortunate to have such a talented and dedicated educator joining our Fairmont family. Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Cadena, our newest Fairmont Falcon. She is looking forward to meeting all of you this year.
