Principal's Welcome Message (2023-24)

Dear Fairmont Elementary Families,

Welcome to a new school year at Fairmont Elementary School. We are pleased to have you with us. Our goal at Fairmont is to provide an exemplary education for all of our students in a kind, safe environment. We believe every child can achieve academic success. To this end, every child will be provided with quality instructional experiences that recognize, support and maintain high expectations for all students.

Parent involvement has always been important at Fairmont Elementary School. Students benefit from parents who play an active role in their child’s education. We hope that you will choose to become involved by volunteering in the classroom or serving as a member of one of our parent groups. Please consider becoming a member of the PTA.

As we work together throughout the year, I encourage you to stay in contact with your child’s teacher. Through teamwork, open communication and a dedication to continuous improvement, Fairmont will continue to be a school where each child is challenged, nurtured and provided with a safe and stimulating learning experience. We believe that the first step for students to excel at school begins with respect for themselves and others, and pride in their school. It is my pleasure to serve this community and be part of a team that is committed to excellence!

I hope you’ve had a wonderful summer break spending time adventuring and relaxing with loved ones! I’d love to tell you a little about myself. I started my teaching career at Van Buren Elementary School where I taught most grades K-6th during the first twenty years of my career. In addition, I spent time at Morse Elementary and Travis Ranch School as well. I have served as a teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal. My educational background includes an undergraduate degree from University of California Irvine, teaching credential from University of Redlands, and  a masters degree and administrative credential form United Sates International University. My experiences have given me a passion for working with all learners, building upon their strengths, and bringing about the goodness that already exists in us all. I look forward to supporting and sustaining the wonderful programs and practices at Fairmont!

I met my husband while working at Disneyland just after college. We have two wonderful kids that bring us so much joy, Cierra and Allyson. Both children are currently attending college out of state. My husband and I are getting used to our empty nest and enjoy attending local sport events and theater.

I am thankful for the leadership of the principals who have gone before me to help make Fairmont a special place. Thank you for entrusting me with your child. It is an honor to serve you! Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Warmly,

Mrs. Anne San Roman, Principal
